Eartheasy has 25 ways to help you save 10 gallons of water a day in your home.
And we’ve got a list of tools to help you as well:
Faucet aerators can reduce your water use by up to a gallon per minute (280 gallons per month)! And they’re easy to install and super inexpensive to boot. Perfect for kitchen and bathroom sinks.
Evolve showerheads reduce water flow to just a trickle once your shower is the perfect, toasty temperature. So, if you’re doing something else while waiting for the water to warm, you won’t waste nearly as much to the pipes.
Showerhead shut off valves are simple and super-savers. Just flip the switch while you’re lathering up or shaving instead of having to mess with the bath fixtures. Flip again when you need water again–a navy shower made easy.
Smart faucets operate similarly. When you’re not pushing a convenient lever, the water flow stops at the sink to give you time to lather your hands with soap. When you’re ready to rinse, you simply lean on that lever again.
Shower timers will keep you on track for your desired water-conserving shower.
Shower buckets can be used to collect water while you’re waiting for the stream to get hot enough–instead of going down the drain, it can be used to water the plants!
Time to get saving.

We talk a lot about water conservation in Silver Lake and Los Angeles at large. And we’re always encouraged by the front and backyards around us that boast native, drought-tolerant plants and the people who do water-saving practices like watering plants after sundown as most H2O use occurs outside the home, taking care of lawns and the like. Find out more about outdoor conservation here.
For
inside water use, we’ve just gotten in a very smart product indeed, made in Los Angeles, go figure. The
smart faucet eliminates the water dribbling from our faucets when we don’t need it. And, it makes that happen much more easily than if we had to reach up and turn off the knob every time we lather our hands or stop to scrub a pan. Plus, it’s got an aerator in there so when it
is running, it’s not gushing.
See that black lever in the photo? After you turn the faucet on, if you’re not putting pressure on that lever, the water stops.
We hope you’ll come into the store and find out more about how to save this precious resource in your home or apartment.

Some of us have a hard time doing what we know we “should” when it comes to showers in order to save water.
ripple, a brand whose products we carry has some inventive solutions.
We’ve got its shower timers, a yellow duck and a blue star, each of which is a digital timer you can suction to the wall of your shower. When the alarm sounds, it’s time to towel off. This is a great device for those of us who resist ending a relaxing drizzle or who aren’t exactly accurate about how long our showers really last (15.50).
There are also some old-fashioned timers that suction to your shower wall for those whose vision allows them to see when the sand has siphoned to the bottom of the hourglass (3.00).
Our special water tools table in the store also holds a collapseable water saving bucket that you can use to recycle bath water or fill up with the first seconds of cold water that flow before you hop into a warm stream (12.00). Afterward, you can use it to wash dishes or water some potted plants.
And remember, if you ride a bike you get a 5% discount on anything in the store.
